First Ever Created Pink Diamonds in OZ

Last night, I got to attend the first ever created pink diamond launch in Australia. Moi Moi Fine Jewellery, Oz's moissanite and created jewel specialist, unveiled its created pink diamond collection at its QVB store.

Natural pink diamonds are found in Australia's Argyle mine, being one of the most expensive and rare jewels on the market.
The diamonds on show last night, however, were created. This means, rather than found in the ground, they were cultivated in a tightly controlled environment by man, yet still consisting of the exact same physical, chemical and optical properties of mined diamonds - at a fraction of the cost.

Co-director Alana Chang Weirick says: "The difference in cost can be as much as $100,000 per carat for pink diamonds of like quality." Hello!
