Because lab grown diamonds and Moissanite are more affordable than mined alternatives, you can often choose a larger centre stone for the same price as a smaller mined diamond.

The process for crafting a custom ring can feel quite detailed and involved, but don’t worry—we’re here to guide you every step of the way. 

Research

As you build your collection if reference images, you’ll start to notice recurring themes, and these can be incredibly helpful in communicating your vision and narrowing down your preferences.

Here are some things you should consider ahead of your consultation: 

• Your preferred centre stone – The centre stone is the star of your engagement ring. The rest of the design will be built around it. 

• Your stone shape – Different cuts suit different hands, and you might be surprised what you fall in love with! Round brilliants remain a timeless favourite, while fancy cuts like oval, radiant and marquise offer a more striking look and can elongate the finger. 

• Your stone size – The best size is the one you or your partner will feel most comfortable wearing. Thanks to the affordability of lab grown diamonds and SUPERNOVA Moissanite, large centre stones are more accessible than ever; you can get a larger centre stone for the same or a lower price than a smaller sized earth-grown stone. That said, something too big and flashy might be off-putting to someone who prefers a smaller, daintier stone. 

• Your budget – Bespoke doesn’t have to mean expensive. In fact, a custom engagement ring can often be designed to suit your budget, sometimes for only slightly more than a ready-made ring. Opting for lab grown diamonds or Moissanite is a smart way to balance beauty and cost.

Approving the CAD design 

Before production begins, you’ll receive detailed CAD (Computer-Aided Design) renders of your custom engagement ring. These 3D images allow you to visualise the design from all angles and ensure every detail is exactly as you imagined. 

This is your chance to review proportions, setting details, stone placement and any special features. If you’d like to make changes, that’s not a problem. Edits can be made before the ring moves into production.

The Crafting Process
